could bring us some snow all over the blossoms right there. >> meteorologist veronica johnson is in the storm center. so veronica, go ahead, lay it on us. >> well, you know, i'm sorry that i have to bring the bad news. actually, could be good news for some people who really love the snow. but definitely this weekend is going to feel a lot like january. especially sunday as it will start to look like january, the fact that we're talking about snow falling across the area. take a look outside. we do have lots of sunshine right now, some high clouds are with us. and for the overnight, there is a weak disturbance that will be making its way just down to the south and off to the east. and that will lay down maybe a few sprinkles or a flurry or two between 8:00 and 11:00 p.m. but as far as the weekend goes, our temperatures warm enough, and that means that road surface temperatures should be a-ok. we have been close to 50 degrees here today, 46 in sterling, 48 in quantico. and even tomorrow, i'm expecting high temperatures to be in the mid 40s. so it's really saturday night and sunday morning

tells us why. >> hey there, guys. you'll have to hold on to that umbrella pretty tight, too. it looks as though we will have a round of some very strong if not severe storms coming through the area. there hasn't been much going on today so far. we have the early morning rain come through the area. we've been overcast today. south of the area we're seeing some breaks. take a look behind me as we check on the outside right now. there are the clouds. and here's where the watch boxes already. so for areas of southwestern pennsylvania, for ohio, for kentucky and most of west virginia, this is a tornado watch that will go sboo until 9:00 p.m. for areas of south western virginia, and for north carolina, western north carolina, eastern tennessee, this tornado watch goes until 10:00 p.m. yes, there is a chance we could see that extended off to the east to include a good portion of our area. now as far as where the storms have been today, they've been off to the west. some dangerous storms at that with a lot of hail being reported throughout ohio and indiana. you can zoom in and see around i-79

believe if it were scripted. george clooney, whose characters we're used to seeing find their way out of creepy situations, is reportedly on the list of witnesses for the defense. as is his girlfriend, elizabeth, who used to be one of those dance orders italian tv. and another potential witness, portuguese association superstar christiano renaldo. why would they be subjected to this endless comedy drama? it all goes back to ruby. she reportedly told investigators that clooney and his girlfriend had attended one of berlusconi's dinners. george has a house on glamorous lake como not far from the prime minister's now notorious home. in a statement says being on the witness list, it seems odd since i've only met berlusconi once and that was in an attempt to get aid into darfur. someone of george clooney's stature, fame, looks, could that in and says she's lying. berlusconi is hoping that will have great sway. berlusconi who currently on trial in a separate corruption case denies any wrongdoing, calling it all a political plot against him. stay tuned while the plot thickens and could get even

. >>> the fast-changing weather caught many of us by surprise overnight. rain, sleet, even snow fell across our area. >> and another storm system is headed our way. let's check in with veronica johnson to find out what is coming at us. >> yeah, that one is going to be coming in it before the week is over, guys, but at least for right now, we do have some clear skies, and a blustery wind, too, behind this storm that moved out. take a look at some of the rainfall amounts across the area. we picked up anywhere from 1 to over 2 inches of rain in fairfax and in frederick. and especially in frederick. that's where they have had some problems. frederick, maryland now reporting minor flooding. they're cresting to 15.96, flood stages at 15. they're expected to be easing back down. and yes we did get snowfall out of this system. in fact, williams port, maryland, two-and-a-half machines. gaitherburg a half inch of snow. and 7.3 over there in baird county, west virginia. 7.3 inches of snow. sunshine throughout the area. we're into the upper 40s, even low 50s in culpepper, maryland. so a nice sky

here near the seventh street and l'enfant plaza. police tell us the officer's motorcycle struck a vehicle that had been involved in an accident. then ricochetted into another vehicle from that accident. that sent the officer and his bike airborne. the officer was taken to the hospital with serious but nonlife threatening injuries. the accident caused some serious traffic back-ups but all roads in the area are now reopened. >>> a teenage boy is in the hospital after being stabbed on a metrobus. it happened last night on bomb on pommer roy road. an investigation into what led to last night's stabbing is underway. >> reporter: the bus known as the garfield anacostia circle anacostia picking up and dropping off passenger at the metro station. it is a popular bus for the kids and teens who 40 anacostia. but last night at 10:45, one of those teens was stabbed and seriously injured. according to metro spokesmen, as the bus pulled up to the 2300 block, a group of people got off the bus. then a 16-year-old boy walked up to the driver saying he had been stabbed in the abdomen. he was taken

pace at central avenue, headed away from us, is continuing past central towards 202. the accident at 202 is actually on the inner loop. but as you can see, caused a big distraction for outer loop drivers. now our standby side of the beltway that's always congested is still going to be congested at this hour. you'll find both sides. now, the outer loop is going to be the heaviest stretch. these delays begin out of maryland and continue headed away from us across the american legion and pretty much continue all the way down toward 66. the inner loop is patchy, across the american legion, headed up towards river road. look at that. no doubt about it, everybody is jammed up there. over towards georgetown, look at that, that's the inner loop of the beltway, and it is barely moving. it does open up a little bit when you get that extra lane on your approach towards 355 and connecticut avenue. but really doesn't add any good news for you. these delays do continue toward 95 and college park. now, we've had a peppering of major issues on the outer loop, a disabled vehicle after braddock and ca

have been used in connection with a murder in olney. a man was shot to death last night while walking home from work. and as tracee wilkins reports, police are wondering if this crime was related to another shooting just days before in olney. >> we are shocked. >> reporter: it was just after 4:00 p.m. yesterday when shots rang out, in the 3400 block of north high street and olney. 41-year-old gesary was just working a few yards away. >> i saw people running that way. and then i ran that way, too. >> reporter: he says he instantly knew the victim was his nephew. by the jacket he was wearing. >> he was alive at that moment. so he was alive. and then i was trying -- he was trying to tell something it looked like to me. but i don't know. >> reporter: gedara died later at the hospital. this 41-year-old man and his wife won a lottery to come to the united states from sri lanka just six months ago. he's been working at this subway from his home. >> he just started a week ago. just a week. every day he was walking there every day. he's going that way. so i don't know what happened. >> reporte

get better. more showers to talk about. it has been a very cruel spring for us. this is our ninth straight day, in fact, with temperatures below average. but hey, at least we have got that game in, right? overcast skies and some more passing showers, too, that i'll talk about in just a moment. your temperatures, though, at 42 degrees. capitol hill and georgetown. larg go and glendale and centerville and restin at 22. montgomery county, only -- and wheatton at 42. we have rain sliding from frederick, maryland, aspen hill, montgomery county, you're wet. frederick county, too, and howard county. and there's more rain coming our way. up until about 11:00 p.m. or midnight. we are going to be seeing some more scattered showers. mostly light showers, too. our temperatures are going to drop off to the low 40s by 9:00. then about 40 degrees by 11:00 p.m. so we're talking about a chilly evening here, with more wet conditions around. some isolated rain showers, though, on friday. so we're starting to get rid of those drops, right? well, for april fool's, plenty of wind. we'll talk about that
